Jason and Tyler leaving for a 3 week church history tour. They will visit all church history sites as well as New York City, Washington D.C. and Boston among other sites.
It has been a rainy day here but it cleared up enough to make a visit to Dad's grave site. We left some flowers and read some things out of his Life History. It was good to share some things with the boys that they didn't know about their grandpa. They commented on how difficult it would be to get married and then go off to war so soon after. I'm posting a few pictures here for all.
I got an email from Carolyn saying that mom has been sending her letters using Easter Seals stickers for stamps. I think she has figured out a way to avoid the increasing cost of postage. LOL. I don't know if the rest of you have had this problem or not. I will try to get to the post office this week and get her some real stamps. Hope all are well. Don't be afraid to post some things about what's going on in your families.
Congratulations to Tyler Downing who graduated from Seminary and recieved his diploma tonight. (Technically it is not called graduation because that connotates that they are done learning). So it is called CES Recognition night.
Tyler will graduate from High School next week and will be going on Heritage Tours (Church History Tour) this summer. Then he will go to Dixie College this fall.
Dear Family, This is my initial entry into the Downing Family Blog. I have never posted a blog before so this will be a learning experience. My sweet wife has already called out my favorite words, "lets' eat". So I don't have a lot of time. I will post this and come back later to learn more about how this "blogging" works.
